In our latest release we have made an improvement that will benefit those travelling at slower speeds, such as wingfoilers in light winds or beginners.
We have lowered the speed threshold that needs to be met in order for your session to get broken down into runs and transitions, and to start counting towards your session stats.
Hoolan automatically detects when you’re properly going by setting a speed threshold, and only once that has been met does it start counting your data towards your session statistics.
This is so that your session data doesn’t get diluted by a long walk out to the sea at low tide, for example, or a walk back upwind, and gives you more flexibility as to when you start and end your recording on your watch.
Any data before or after this threshold gets put into pre and post-session data, so you can still see it for context.
If you found that a lot of your recording was in pre or post-session, or that it didn’t get broken down into runs and transitions at all, it was because the speed threshold hadn’t been met. With this new adjustment, low speed session will now be much better represented.
Please give us another go and see whether this improves things for you.
Coming soon is a ‘Edit track’ feature where you will be able to adjust the beginning and end of any previous sessions that were affected by the higher speed threshold.
