Riders are now are able to customise which activities they'd like jump detection to be activated for, and the height threshold for receiving haptic alerts on their watch.
For example, you may only be jumping when you're kiteboarding on a twin tip, and only want to be alerted if you've jumped over 3m.
For those who never jump, or only jump when on a certain board type, for example, this development saves battery and prevents any false jumps from being recorded, from things like riding over waves or porpoising on the foil.
There are three jump detection options a rider can choose from in their Watch Settings screen: On, Off & Custom:
'ON' - jump detection will be running for all activity types with haptic alerts for all jumps 1.5m* and above. 'OFF' - jump detection will be off for all activity types. 'CUSTOM' - choose whether jump detection will be on or off for each activity type. By default, jump detection is set to 'CUSTOM' and jump detection will be 'ON' for the following activity types:
Kiteboarding (twintip board)
Kitesurfing (directional board) Strapped
Kitesurfing (directional board) Strapless
Kitefoiling (foil board) Strapped
'OFF' for the following activity types:
Kitefoiling (foil board) Strapless
Wingfoiling Strapped
Wingfoiling Strapless
All windsurfing activities
* We only track jumps 1.5m and above as, from testing, we've found that riding over waves can lead to false jumps being recorded.
