Pre and post-session explained
To make Hoolan as easy as possible to use, we’ve designed it to detect when you’ve properly got going before breaking your session down into runs and transitions and counting the data towards your session stats.
This means that any time recorded before (pre-session) or afterwards (post-session) - for example, whilst launching or landing your kite or wading to/ from deeper water when on a foil - doesn’t dilute your session stats and you have flexibility as to when you start or stop recording on your watch.
Riding at low tide? See how far you walked to get to the sea. Had to ditch your kite and swim back? All the good stuff that gives your session context is still there in your pre and post-session data to look back on, but without having compromised your core session statistics.

In order for a session to get started, we have set a speed threshold that needs to be met for a number of consecutive seconds. If a session has not been broken down into runs and transitions at all, or not until quite far into your recording, it means that this threshold hasn't been met.
